{"id":514,"date":"2015-03-10T14:40:24","date_gmt":"2015-03-10T12:40:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pro-legal-team.rs\/?p=514"},"modified":"2015-03-10T17:49:35","modified_gmt":"2015-03-10T15:49:35","slug":"taxes-in-serbia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pro-legal-team.rs\/en\/informations\/taxes-in-serbia\/","title":{"rendered":"Taxes in Serbia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From our experience, many clients which are planning to <a title=\"How to open a LLC (DOO) company in Serbia?\" href=\"http:\/\/pro-legal-team.rs\/en\/informations\/how-to-open-a-lcc-company-in-serbia\/\" target=\"_blank\">start their business in Serbia<\/a>, have problems because they can\u2019t determine with certainty, <strong>which tax they are obliged to pay and what is the tax rate<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Our office decided to help our clients and potential investors in Serbia, and in one place we listed all taxes and tax rates.<\/p>\n<h2>I Corporate Taxes<\/h2>\n<p>Serbia&#8217;s tax regime is highly conducive to doing business. The corporate profit tax is among the lowest in Europe, while the Value Added Tax is among the most competitive in Central and Eastern Europe.<\/p>\n<h2>II Value Added Tax<\/h2>\n<p>The VAT rates are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The standard VAT rate &#8211; <strong>20%<\/strong> (for most taxable supplies);<\/li>\n<li>The lower VAT rate &#8211; <strong>10%<\/strong> (for basic food stuffs, daily newspapers, utilities, etc.).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a title=\"Contact us\" href=\"http:\/\/pro-legal-team.rs\/en\/contact-us\/\" target=\"_blank\">Contact our office<\/a>, so we could check, in which category your company falls.<\/p>\n<h2>III Corporate Profit Tax<\/h2>\n<p>Corporate profit tax is paid at the uniform rate of <strong>15%<\/strong>. Non-residents are taxed only based on their income generated in Serbia.<\/p>\n<h2>IV Withholding Tax<\/h2>\n<p>The withholding tax is not applied to dividend payments between Serbian entities. For non-residents of Serbia, a <strong>20%<\/strong> withholding tax is calculated and paid on certain payments such as dividends, shares in profit, royalties, interest, capital gains, lease payments for real estate and other assets.<\/p>\n<h2>V Personal Income Tax<\/h2>\n<p>The personal income tax rate is <strong>10%<\/strong> for salaries.<\/p>\n<h2>VI Annual Income Tax<\/h2>\n<p>The annual income is taxed if exceeding the amount of threefold the average annual salary in Serbia.
